A Thought on Interstellar Travel

I have not fully formed the gelatinous core of the ball of thoughts I just allowed my small human mind to entertain, however what is there is somewhat interesting concepts worth exploring without having to be overly technical. This is a simple thought experiment and no research has gone into it at this point.

So, we want to someday achieve interstellar travel. While I am not in any way shape or form condemning any theories others have proposed, I do think that we are not looking at the forest because of all of the trees that present themselves as soon as the word travel enters the conversation. Travel, means going from here to there and there to here and usually involves acceleration, deceleration, distance, speed or velocity, and time. There also are theories that involve worm holes, black holes, faster than light travel, mind travel via light, generational spaceships and others I guarantee I am not remembering.

I simply think this is a case of way overthinking something very difficult, yet staring at us like a huge yellow ball of plasma that we know and love and depend on for existence. Our sun is the ticket. How we go about boarding the solar express without being turned back into star matter is something minds far more expansive and that have the scientific ability to test theories that I cannot may find something to occupy their precious and much needed time.

People like to contemplate the ideas that black holes could be a portal between different Universes or allow for potential time travel or maybe just short cuts through our own Universe. What people are unable to answer is what about that singularity thing we believe is dead center of the black hole. It sucks everything in from this “side” of the contemplated portal, and in essence would logically have to do the same from the other “side” to allow for the two gravitational “sides” to connect to each other. They would have to for a portal to exist. What then about the singularity? It can’t disappear or the gravitational fields would collapse almost instantly. The two “sides” that would have been connected were connected by that gravitational force and could not possible keep its form without that energy remaining. If the energy were to remain in the portal itself it would self destruct anyways as there is no way for the magnetic forces to be generated at the same time they are being used to connect the two sides.

Of course this is all theoretical and I could be making assumptions that are so erroneous I would be embarrassed if I thought shame was a useful tool — but I don’t so you get my theories, the chance to respond to them — kindly I hope as I don’t think that anything I am saying is “stupid” —and hopefully we can have some interesting constructive conversation along the way.

So without going too much further into the black hole/singularity issue, what if we rethink the black hole as being a door being closed, not opened and not allowing for anything to exit because it now empty space where “something” used to occupy it is being filled by the gravitational pull of that dense nothingness. If you stop here and consider what I just said you most likely won’t *have* to read the rest of this draft to get to where I am going, but I hope you do. If for no other reason to point out my mistakes or impossibilities. I don’t mind being corrected as long as you are correct.

What this closing of the door would mean was that the door was open previous to this, and that the portal we are seeking is already open for us right there in that beautiful and mesmerizing ball of fire. As an added bonus, I don’t think that portal is a one way or a two way street. I think that all stars in the universe are connected to that portal, and to every other portal, and just like we worry about the destruction of information as a black hole dies, these open door stars hold the information to everything and everywhere. Interconnected at a common interstellar quantum force or possibly quantum void surrounded by the force needed to provide the opening to remain unblocked, interstellar travel would be as simple as walking into the sun on in this system and out of the sun on the other system. There would be no speed. No velocity. No time distortion. No gravitational destruction…. but there is that whole extreme plasma ball that is totally into violence and would incinerate us and pretty much anything we know of well before entering that portal. What is a non-quantum life form to do?

Dean Koontz wrote some amazing Frankenstein fiction that is a great on the flight across the country read. In the series the “monster” lives up and into the present day. Over the years he has mastered quantum physics and can simply disappear and reappear at will travelling over unknown distances. He works with a couple of detectives solving crimes and is always able to pop out of nowhere at just the right time.

The answer is out there. It already exists. We may not have found it yet, and if I suddenly disappear maybe we already had but no one is supposed to know. In any case what do you think? Could we someday understand physics to the point of quantum travel and if so could we use the natural bridges that all stars have between them to instantly achieve interstellar travel? I am working on it… but I am more of an idea guy than a follow through person so…. don’t hold your breath.

Thanks for reading this if you have and have a great day…
